For those who love cooking, Gangtey Lodge is pleased to offer a package full of culinary adventures. From cooking classes to private dining experiences, guests will experience the exotic & spicy flavors of Bhutanese cuisine and the signature dishes of Gangtey Lodge, while exploring the valley and its rich cultural history. The itinerary can be tailored to personal preference.
DAY 1: On arrival, enjoy a welcome drink and hors d’oeuvres while Gangtey’s chef explains the culinary experiences. Visit the Crane Center and enjoy the evening. Specially tailored dinner prepared by our executive chef.
DAY 2: After a hearty breakfast on the terrace, we will take you on a nature hike that leads to Khewa Lhakhang. Your private chefs and staff will be waiting with a traditional wood fire BBQ in the middle of the valley. Drive back to the lodge and enjoy a game of archery with the staff of Gangtey Lodge. In the evening, learn to make ‘butter tea’ (Suja) that will then be offered to you in a traditional tea offering ceremony. Later, join our chefs for a short cooking class, making items like homemade jam or signature dishes. Bhutanese set dinner at the lodge.
DAY 3: Participate in the Tshewang prayer ceremony and receive an exclusive tour of the Monastery, where you will enjoy a private breakfast. Visit a local farmhouse and experience ‘farm to plate’ with a local family. They will guide you through the whole process and you will receive first-hand knowledge of Bhutanese cooking. Return to the lodge for some downtime. Private dinner set up at an exclusive location.
DAY 4: After breakfast, depart Gangtey Lodge for next destination.
