It’s the week of Thanksgiving here in the US, which means the JG Black Book team will be sharing delicious, festive Thanksgiving meals with family and friends, and taking a pause from our busy lives to reflect on who and what we are thankful for. While each one of us has many reasons to be thankful this year and every year, we wanted to take a moment to share some of the many reasons we are thankful to be a part of the travel industry.
Jena Gardner: “One of my biggest passions in life is seeing wildlife out in the wild. For that reason, I am IN LOVE WITH Africa! My first visit to Africa was on my 30th birthday, and I became hooked. Last year, I returned to Africa for my 19th visit where I had the opportunity to actually feed a baby elephant at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. It was a magical moment, and one I will never forget!”
“Having grown up in Montana, I love returning home whenever possible. My family always says, ‘You can take the girl out of Montana but you can’t take Montana out of the girl.’ With our recent purchase of Revealed America, I am over the moon that we orchestrate magical vacations throughout the American West. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to “Talk Tana” (Montana that is) with a friend, client or loved one, or to see the look on their faces when they too get to experience the vast beauty and Old Western flair of the Northern Rockies.”
Cataline Green: “I am so thankful to work in the travel industry. To be able to experience some of the extraordinary places I have been is just incredible. I’ve stayed on private islands, flown on private jets, swam with Great White Sharks, fed baby Cheetahs… Not only that, but it has allowed me to meet incredible people from all of the world. To be able to learn about different cultures and ways of life allows you to have a better perspective, which is humbling beyond words. Being surrounded by colleagues and industry partners opens up a wealth of opportunity to consistently learn about new destinations and experiences, whilst making new friends from all over the world. Who wouldn’t be thankful for that?!”
David Corke: “I am thankful for having the opportunity to experience the amazing different cultures around the world.”
And on a more humorous note: “I am thankful for making Silver Medallion status with Delta Airlines this year. Now I can reserve the extra legroom seats at time of booking!”
Joanna Faulkner: “I am thankful for the beauty that I get to experience every time I am fortunate enough to visit one of our partners or travel destinations. And I am thankful for my team members who share a similar passion for travel, who motivate me, and above all, make my job so much fun!”
Blane Bevilacqua: “I am thankful for all of the amazing people that I have had the opportunity to travel with to experience some of the world’s most beautiful destinations.”
Julie Leventhal: “I am thankful to have the opportunity to work at JG Black Book with such an amazing team. I am thankful to be able to explore the world and show media the destinations and properties we work with. It is amazing to open the eyes of a writer to a new culture, new recipe, new adventure or experience that is unique to each of the destinations we work with.”
We realize that we are incredibly fortunate to be a part of such wonderful industry and we want to thank you for being a part of our journey! Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at JG Black Book!
