Did you know that fifty-five feet of fresh snow has fallen at Sheldon Chalet since September?! This fresh powder allows Sheldon’s guests to enjoy frequent adventuring and playing in the wintry wonderland — which is likely one of the snowiest places on earth. And of course, guests can also step back inside to cozy up inside by the fire, while sipping hot toddies, sampling Alaskan delicacies and watching the passing weather systems or observing avalanches thundering down the nearby mountainsides. When it grows dark, the Sheldon staff has thoughtfully positioned spotlights to illuminate the swirling storms from inside. This much snow also makes for splendid glacier adventures with professional mountain guides, exploring crevasses and the vast 35 square miles of the natural amphitheater.
