Eight unique timber and brick bandas have been nestled into the hillside. Their luxury comforts include en-suite bathrooms and an individual terrace overlooking the plains. The lodge is a scenic one-hour flight from Entebbe, Uganda.

Specializing in mountain gorilla and chimpanzee safaris in Uganda and Rwanda, this award-winning pioneer in ecotourism ensures that safaris respect the culture of local communities, the fragility of the environment and the need to use resources in a sustainable way. Led by outstanding guides and staying at intimate lodges near the gorilla and chimpanzee parks, guests are assured a truly unforgettable experience with Volcanoes Safaris.

Named for the region’s Kyambura Gorge chimpanzees, each stylish timber and brick banda (cottage) at Kyambura Gorge Lodge boasts a contemporary theme, accented by local artifacts and an iron sheet or thatched roof. Creature comforts include an en-suite luxury shower room, shower with hot and cold running water, mosquito netting, 240-volt lighting and a private balcony. While there are no air conditioners, there are power sockets and charging facilities available in the rooms.

The lodge is located on the edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park with sweeping views of the rolling savanna, the distant mountains of the moon, and the sunken Kyambura Gorge.

Recognizing that even a deep jungle location shouldn’t mean a dearth of luxurious amenities, the lodge caters to guests’ sybaritic sides with an inviting saltwater swimming pool, WiFi in the main lodge, a fully stocked gift shop, a tranquil spa room in which to enjoy one complimentary massage per guest and complimentary laundry service.
