Everything about Alaska—the slopes, the streams, the forests, the wildlife, the immense scope of the wilderness, the very air you breathe here—is above and beyond what you’ve ever known. It takes range—breadth and depth, knowledge and history and a certain way of understanding the land—to create intimate, personal interactions with a place this grand.

Tordrillo Mountain Lodges offer both the range of possibilities and the deep connection to the place that can carve personal moments from such a vast landscape. Olympic gold medalist Tommy Moe and heli-skiing pioneer Mike Overcast have built more than a lodge—they’ve built a way to experience the vast grandeur of Alaska in comfort, style and ease. With three lodge locations and private helicopters, Tordrillo’s multi-sport trips put you directly in touch with the abundance—of trout, salmon, powder, whitewater, unpeopled space, whatever you seek—that makes Alaska so fascinating.

A wall of windows keeps guests in the main lodge always glancing at the shifting skyscape over the Alaska Range and Judd Lake. Outside, a shore-side hot tub and three large cedar decks keep you in touch with the elements. Inside, the rustic-modern Alaska architecture features spacious, open living area and a hand-built fireplace for fireside chats. Five-star meals from local ingredients and premium spirits and wine are served in a dining room with breathtaking views. All rooms have private baths.

Private handbuilt cabins feature lounge areas and floor-to-ceiling windows. Located near the yoga/sauna facility, each cabin is far enough from the lodge to give you privacy but close enough for convenience. Moose Hall & the Lakeside Retreat, a luxurious enclave for up to eight guests, offers a private chef, a dedicated helicopter and gorgeous lodging in backcountry-modern style. Across the water, the Judd Lake Lodge, a hardwood and stainless steel architectural gem, combines luxury, style, and comfort during the winter season.
Floor-to-ceiling windows in the main lodge open to stunning views of the Tordrillo Range.
Four large ensuite bedrooms, a private world-class chef and a designated helicopter await up to eight guests.

At Winterlake Lodge, Tordrillo Lodge offers yet a further-flung jumping off point to
some of the most untouched heli-skiing opportunities in the world. Ask for details.

Attention to service is a hallmark at Tordrillo, where you can relax in a wood-fired sauna or soak in our copper hot tub by the lakeside while you sip a premium craft cocktail or a wine selection from our 500-bottle wine cellar. Evening wine tastings dovetail into gourmet meals prepared by Alaska’s best chefs and served in intimate settings.

Guests can start their day with a yoga routine, a workout in the gym or a professional massage. Enjoy the fastest WIFI in Alaska to keep you connected to your other world. When you’re ready to venture into the great outdoors, a designated helicopter is waiting to take you in any direction your sense of adventure points.

Tordrillo’s helicopters provide access to some of the world’s richest and most exciting fishing. Helicopters also provide access to sky-trekking excursions, remote climbing routes and rivers for rafting and wildlife viewing create opportunities for intimate interactions with the place. On our remote backcountry, standup paddleboarding, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and waterskiing on the lake make easy afternoon outings. More civilized pursuits like yoga, meditation, massage therapy, and wine tasting await no matter the weather.

In winter, our team of backcountry experts guides guests over 1.2 million acres of pristine mountain slopes, covered in up to 600 inches of untracked powder. Closer to the lodge, a 10-kilometer groomed Nordic skiing course and endless backcountry trails reveal winter’s magnificence to cross-country ski and snowshoe enthusiasts. All of summer’s indoor activities are available in winter, too, including snowfall soaks in the hot tub. And the Northern Lights know no season. The sky always beckons.

A breakfast of fresh fruit, a hot dish and homemade pastries starts every day at Tordrillo. Lunches of delicious soups, gourmet sandwiches and loaded brownies fuel adventures. Dinners are gastronomical events—seasonal herbs and organic vegetables, regional game dishes and seafood like Kachemak Bay oysters, white king salmon, Alaska king crab, halibut and black cod are given exquisite treatment by our gourmet chef.

Fishermen can eat their catch, prepared to their liking. Special diets easily accommodated with advance notice. Our bars serve premium spirits, and our extensive wine collection pairs with every dish we prepare.

A short flight from Anchorage, Tordrillo is a long way from anywhere. Only 40 minutes by air transports guests into a world far from any you’ve known before. Tucked in the heart of the Tordrillo range, on the shores of Judd Lake, with the Talachulitna River rolling by outside, Tordrillo Lodge affords guests views of two 11,000-foot Volcanoes as well as North America’s highest peak, the majestic 20,320-foot high Denali.
