Designed for those world travelers who relish an exceptional luxury experience, yet who yearn for an outdoor camp setting, The Ultimate Travelling Camp unlocks the mysteries of India’s most intriguing and untouched destinations.

The camps are crafted to take in the beautiful diversity of the countryside, seamlessly combining a fantasy nomadic lifestyle with an uber-luxury tent stay. Each camp celebrates the indigenous culture and traditions of the region and all itineraries are thoughtfully created to reflect this, as well as the interests of the guests – special celebration trips are easily and enthusiastically arranged, whether a wedding or a milestone birthday.

Kishkinda Camp, Hampi boasts the unique opportunity to delve into ancient history stemming from the 14th century AD. An expanse of Dravidian-style palaces, temples and ruins, surrounded by immense boulders and banana plantations, Hampi, former capital of a mighty empire, has been described as the “city of victory” and “best planned city” for its time. The ruins, nestled within the remnants of the medieval city of Vijaynagar, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Guests of Kishkinda Camp are immersed in the magical atmosphere and invited to take walks to spot wildlife, watch stunning sunsets over the breathtaking old city ruins and listen to tales of the former kingdom around a crackling campfire.

After the opening season from January 31 to July 15, 2018, the camp will operate October 1st through July 15th annually.

Aligning with the posh style one expects from The Ultimate Travelling Camp, the colonial safari-themed tent accommodations of Kishkinda Camp are the very epitome of glamping. Nine exclusive luxury tents boast leather-bound trunks, four-poster beds, comfortable armchairs and hand-crafted décor, all evoking the grand days of traveling. One Presidential Suite is also available. The accommodations all have air conditioning, a private terrace, butler service, colonial style interiors and state of the art bathrooms and are scattered throughout the camp site for uninterrupted views and privacy.

With a nod to its royal past, Kishkinda Camp, Hampi curates a VIP experience for its guests, including personalized butler service for all tents. A reception tent makes for a convivial meeting spot with other guests to share the day’s experiences or to hop on the WiFi to send photos to friends and family back home. Experience specialists are on hand to create a daily itinerary to match each guest’s interests and activity level.

To stay at Kishkinda Camp, Hampi is to fully experience the 14th century AD in India, from visits to the Daroji Bear sanctuary to tours of the Badami cave temples. Experience specialists escort guests to iconic temple ruins and nearby rustic villages, take them birding on the backwaters of the river Tungabhadra and arrange visits with the Gypsy women of Sandur. Hampi itself is the centerpiece of the guest experience and there are opportunities to explore the temples, ruins, medieval royal chambers, watchtowers, elephant stables, royal baths and more. Photography lessons are available to ensure picture-perfect memories.
