Packing just the right essentials for your bike tour is extremely important. No one wants to be on the ride of their life without the proper attire. But, they do ask that you limit your luggage to one medium-sized suitcase and one carry-on. Mark your DuVine luggage tag with your name, address, and phone number. Sometimes a small extra bag is good to carry gifts back home.
On The Bike
You don’t have to look like a professional cyclist to enjoy your trip. Come as you are, but padded bicycle shorts and bicycle gloves will make your ride much more comfortable. However, they are not required. What’s most important is that you enjoy the ride, no matter how you decide to dress.
You spend most of the day outside, whether in the vineyard, at a local cafe, or on our bikes, so dress comfortably. Check with your tour coordinator to get the most likely weather conditions during your trip. This should help you decide exactly what type of clothing you will need.
It tends to be around 57 degrees F in wine cellars, and warm on the bicycle. Bicycling shoes or stiff-soled sneakers, bicycling tights, sandals, long-sleeved shirt, rain gear (jacket and pants), sunglasses, and a sweater/sweatshirt are also good to have.
Don’t worry about having to keep everything with you on your bike. Your guides will store your luggage and loose clothing in the support van during the ride.
Looking to upgrade your cycling attire or pick up your first pair of biking shorts? Check out the DuVine Gear Section for their entire line of DuVine cycling gear.
