DestinationMapSingitaBouldersLodgeWith sun-swept vistas as a breathtaking backdrop, guests can relax on a sundeck of Singita Boulders Lodge as they watch wild animals roam free across the pristine 45,000-acre sanctuary in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve.

Carved out of the earth, the 12 suites are magnificently appointed, nestled along the Sand River. Their organic texture, colors and open fluidity harmonize perfectly with the outdoors, and natural elements are reflected in the simple yet luxurious leather and linen throughout the lodge.

Singita Boulders Lodge’s modern magnificence stands in awe of Africa. Its dozen contemporary suites are places of quiet reflection, featuring sensual stone bedrooms and bathrooms that enfold you in the finest luxuries while you enjoy panoramic views of the African bush. Each of the lodge’s suites features an en suite bathroom and shower, private swimming pool, fireplace, private lounge and game-viewing deck. The entire lodge may be booked for groups or families. Children of all ages are welcome.

While your days may be spent in wilderness adventure, you’ll return to a serene and tranquil environment complete with a gymnasium, health spa, library, wine cellar and swimming pools. And be sure to indulge in the Singita Spa’s body and skin care treatments in therapy rooms with spectacular views of the bushveld or in the comfort of your private suite. Visitors will also find superb shopping at the Singita Boutique & Gallery. WiFi is available.

The days at Singita start early. Your ranger and tracker greet you in the main lodge with a warm beverage and light snack before you head out on the morning expedition. Then return to the lodge for a sumptuous breakfast. The afternoon is spent at your leisure, as you anticipate the excitement of the evening safari drive. Herds of impala, antelope, buffalo and elephant, prides of lion and a leopard beginning the night’s hunt — just a few of the wonders that await you in the sanctuary of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. Guided bush walks and community visits can also be arranged.

The modern, contemporary African spirit of Boulders Lodge is reflected in the diverse cuisine inspired by South Africa’s cosmopolitan influences. Beautifully prepared dishes are presented in truly inspirational surroundings. On a balmy evening, delight the palette with a chilled watermelon and red pepper gazpacho followed by chermoula-marinated tiger prawns with avocado salsa. The fusion of Asian, pan-African and modern European flavors and textures is as memorable as the awe-inspiring views. Menus are tailored to your taste and a comprehensive wine cellar offers pairings of perfection.

The Singita Community Development Trust has, since 2009, been working together with the READ Educational Trust, a non-profit organization, to introduce and increase effective and constructive teaching methodologies into the preschools that serve the Justicia and Lillydale villages, communities situated on the boundary of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. Support provided is holistic and ranges from guidance in the running and management of a preschool; to formal training courses, focusing on the effective development of children’s literacy and numeracy skills; and the provision of educational materials. Parent workshops are also conducted to encourage a more developmental home life for the learners. This is planned as a four-year program and, once complete, Singita will offer the same support to a further 10 preschools in the area.

Boulders Lodge is part of Singita Sabi Sand in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve on the western border of the Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga Province, South Africa. It is approximately 1.25 hours by air from Johannesburg to both Skukuza and Kruger Mpumalanga Airport, and about 5.5 hours driving from Johannesburg to Singita Sabi Sand.
