Perched on the edge of the Serengeti, Leopard’s Ridge is a 15-tent luxury camp in Northern Tanzania.
With sweeping vistas of the grasslands below, luxurious accommodations, and an unmatched commitment to surpassing our guests’ expectations, a stay at Leopard’s Ridge is a truly unique African experience. With 60 acres of privately-owned land just outside Klein’s Gate, guests can participate in a host of activities that aren’t available inside Serengeti National Park. The wildlife of the Northern Serengeti is abundant, varied and powerful to witness in person.
Beyond providing an exceptional experience for guests, Leopard’s Ridge aims to employ and empower members of the local community, preserve and protect the indigenous wildlife and natural species of the region and educate global travelers on the rich natural and cultural resources Tanzania has to offer.
From the tents you can enjoy stunning views of the Lobo Valley from the serenity of your private verandah or curl up with a good book in your own cozy sitting area, furnished with a leather sofa, armchair and writing desk. A raised sleeping area features either a king or twin sized beds, adorned with traditional Maasai beadwork. En-suite bathrooms are complete with soaking tub, separate shower, double vanity, and hair dryer, along with sumptuous robes and towels – a touch of indulgence in the bush. Most tents measure 60 square meters (600 square feet) though some are larger.
The newly-renovated Honeymoon Suite offers couples their own romantic hideaway. Built seamlessly within lush canopy overlooking the Serengeti, this special tent is our only one to feature a dipping pool. Spend afternoons relaxing together in your own private oasis.
Newly-built in the most secluded area of the camp, the 4-bedroom Family Tent provides a true home-away-from-home for larger groups or those traveling with children. With enough space to sleep up to eight people, our Family Tent boasts an impressive common area complete with wet bar, sitting area and a large dining table. A private outdoor fire pit is perfect for nights spent gathered together under starry skies. Other special touches include luxurious outdoor showers, in addition to the four indoor en-suite bathrooms. (only thought here is for families, mentioning that it’s in a secluded area might feel not as safe. Potential problem with children. Maybe change “secluded” to “private” which sounds less deserted)
The advantages of staying at Leopard’s Ridge Tented Camp are many. With 60 acres of privately-owned land just outside Klein’s Gate, guests can participate in a host of activities that are unavailable while inside Serengeti National Park. These include:
Leopard’s Ridge is located on a private concession that overlooks the Serengeti in Northern Tanzania, close to the Kenyan border.
The camp is a 30 minute drive from the Lobo airstrip, accessed by light aircraft via daily scheduled flights from Arusha. For those connecting in Europe we recommend traveling from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Most guests choose to overnight in Arusha before taking the short flight (1.5 hours) to the Lobo Airstrip. Some guests choose to connect via Jomo Kenyata International Airport in Nairobi (NBO) before flying to Arusha.
