A dreamy setting for relaxing in the shadow of majestic Mount Kenya, the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club is a soothing respite for those who seek to golf, swim, ride horseback, play croquet, visit local wildlife and be pampered in all possible respects.

Days are spent on an enormous range of attractions and activities here in Nanyuki, Kenya, while evenings bring superb dining and complete comfort in the luxuriously appointed guest rooms of this lavish resort, set on more than 100 acres of landscaped gardens for an oasis-like ambience – it’s little wonder the resort is so award-winning and beloved worldwide.

Some of the finest accommodations in Nanyuki, Kenya, the 120 guest rooms and suites of the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club are set in a 1950s-era colonial building with a country-club feel, as well as quaint stand-alone cottages – including William Holden’s original cottage. Each accommodation features air conditioning, luxurious bath amenities, sitting areas with dramatic mountain views, a well-stocked mini bar, a lovely rainfall shower and a wood-burning fireplace to keep the evening chill at bay.

Dedicated to a recharging and renewing guest experience, Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club boasts an array of thoughtful amenities designed to make each stay easy and memorable. Activities from spa treatments to specially designed children’s fun are available by day, while evening diversions center around the exquisite Tusks Restaurant. Babysitting service is available, as well as late checkout, when needed, laundry service and local souvenir and artwork shopping. Also available: a cutting-edge Technogym is available, heated swimming pool and tennis and basketball courts.

It’s not about what to do at the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club, as much as how to do it all. Days are spent bike riding, playing croquet, going on game drives to Samburu Game Reserve, visiting an animal orphanage, horseback riding, canoeing, birdwatching … even climbing Mount Kenya. Golfers won’t want to miss the scenic, nine-hole course that is Africa’s only one bisected by the Equator, allowing one to leisurely stroll from the Northern to Southern Hemisphere.

In full view of snow-capped Mount Kenya, Tusks Restaurant makes for an elegant evening after the day’s play. Guests dine on cuisine farmed in central Kenya, with lavish breakfast and lunch buffets and a hearty four-course dinner. Al fresco terrace dining and indoor tables around the original grand fireplace are available. Zebar, which rests on the Equator, boasts huge windows overlooking the dramatic peak and landscaped gardens and offers a smart-casual ambience for drinks and bar snacks. Sunday Brunch, the most famous and a favorite in the region features a wide array of dishes, live cooking stations for ethnic and international foods, meat and whole fish carving, the largest selection of dessert and fun, healthy offering for the kids.

Mount Kenya Safari Club is located close to Mount Kenya National Park and Forest Reserve, Aberdare National Park and Meru National Park. The Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club is serviced by Air Kenya Aviation, with daily flights to and from the Nanyuki airstrip.
