Long regarded as the most mysterious island in the world, Easter Island is shrouded in speculation about the vanished Rapa Nui culture and the hundreds of ancient moai statues that dot its stunning landscape.

For those looking to explore the next frontier, explora Rapa Nui offers a mystical and profound experience, especially when gazing out on the sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. In between daily explorations of the black lava-rock coastline, relax in one of the 30 well-appointed rooms of the silver LEED-certified hotel or in the outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the breathtaking horizon.

Accommodations

Approximately 3.5 miles from Hanga Roa, the only town on the island, explora Rapa Nui, Easter Island is a new hotel with 26 guest rooms and four suites offering refined comforts and modern conveniences. Guests in every room awake each morning to a panoramic view of the vast Pacific and all its wonder. The hotel features volcanic rock and wood in its design, which spreads unobtrusively across the landscape from central areas which house reception, living areas, a bar, a kitchen and services.

Excursions

explora Rapa Nui serves as a home base for exploring the secrets and beauty of Easter Island. Daily explorations include a variety of half-day walking treks of easy to medium degrees of difficulty, and are planned according to weather conditions and guests’ preferences. Walks are combined with picnics on rocky outcrops or along the shore, always at mesmerizing sites. At the end of your trek, you’ll return to the hotel by van. There is also a half-day bicycle tour — an easy 11-mile ride along a spectacular coastline. Snorkeling and ancient fishing are also popular. Excursions are in small groups of eight or less with bilingual guides, and all equipment and supplies are provided.

Activities

No special training is needed to participate in the unforgettable explorations of this land of speculation and mystery. Bilingual guides create a spirit of adventure while assuring safety and preserving the natural environment. Easter Island’s ruins are extremely accessible, with archeological sites at every turn. When not exploring, guests can relax on the beach, one of only two on the island, or enjoy the luxuries of the Casa de Baños Hare Taheta, with a pool, massage salon and open-air Jacuzzis. Visitors interested in more adventurous activities can also make their own arrangements for reef diving.
